This afternoon, my friend (from Temple University) Justine and I decided to go to 书院门 (Shu Yuan Men) which is a famous Calligraphy Street in Xi’an. There were shops after shops selling calligraphy brushes and paper. Although I didn’t want to buy any, we had a totally blast checking out all the artsy stalls.
We then stumbled upon an area filled with little pet shops. Justine and I got overwhelmed but the adorable Chinese puppies! We played with them all!
The bunnies were so fluffy and warm!
Plus all the kittens!
Justine and I were so ecstatic to stumble upon all these adorable animals during our adventure. Once we pulled ourselves away from all the cuteness we walked around a busy shopping center. It was filled with mostly Chinese brands and a Walmart!
One thing you won’t find in an American Walmart is barrels of rice.
Although I thought the Chinese Walmart would be busy, it was relatively empty. It had mostly Chinese products but the prices were a bit expensive. Justine and I were expecting a bustling feel when we entered but it was mostly a lot of workers trying to make themselves look busy.
Overall I’d consider our adventure a success with all the calligraphy and cute Chinese pets!
