{"id":61,"date":"2013-08-29T23:54:36","date_gmt":"2013-08-29T23:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/setcourseforchina.wordpress.com\/?p=61"},"modified":"2013-08-29T23:54:36","modified_gmt":"2013-08-29T23:54:36","slug":"half-way-around-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/?p=61","title":{"rendered":"Half Way Around the World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2013\/08\/dscf0055.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-63\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf0055.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All day yesterday, the program was showing us around our new university and the surrounding city, Wudaokou, highlighting the best restaurants and the cheapest stores.\u00a0 I was pretty much in a daze the whole time-and it hadn&#8217;t sunk in yet that I was in China.<\/p>\n<p>Well shortly after a nice afternoon, we piled into a van and traveled to a nearby section of the city called Houhai.\u00a0 It is famous for their 3 large ponds (but they are referred to as &#8220;rivers&#8221;) that were made by an emperor.\u00a0 There were lots of shops and restaurants around and boats on the rivers.\u00a0 It was a really lovely view.\u00a0 As I was walking around taking a plethora of pictures and seeing all the people rush by in every direction, it hit me that I was in China.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen for me.\u00a0 Oh and Dad, if I would have come by the bridge to see the sunset two minutes later the picture would have been ruined! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2013\/08\/dscf0043.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-78\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf0043.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned: This evening I will post more about my flight, getting to the university, and my dorm!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All day yesterday, the program was showing us around our new university and the surrounding city, Wudaokou, highlighting the best restaurants and the cheapest stores.\u00a0 I was pretty much in a daze the whole time-and it hadn&#8217;t sunk in yet that I was in China.
