{"id":2906,"date":"2014-06-07T04:38:55","date_gmt":"2014-06-07T04:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/setcourseforchina.wordpress.com\/?p=2906"},"modified":"2014-06-07T04:38:55","modified_gmt":"2014-06-07T04:38:55","slug":"day-six-part-two-hiking-with-some-local-pasture-dogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/?p=2906","title":{"rendered":"Day Six (Part Two)- Hiking with some Local Pasture Dogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the afternoon, we traveled to a pasture land to explore.\u00a0 On the drive up we got to see beautiful rivers and mountainsides.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/img_1049.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2904\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/img_1049.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 This region was at such a high elevation, we began to feel freezing rain.\u00a0 However, the landscape was just too beautiful so I didn&#8217;t care.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/dscf3417.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2903\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf3417.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The rest of the group decided to stay in one of these white yurts in order to stay warm.\u00a0 However, four of us chose to have an adventure!\u00a0 It all started when these two pasture dogs started to follow us.\u00a0 They were incredibly majestic!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/img_1068.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2905\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/img_1068.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They even posed with us for a group shot. We didn&#8217;t even have to coax them.\u00a0 They just plopped down in front of us.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/img_1082.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2907\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/img_1082.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The dogs kept running off then coming back to us.\u00a0 We decided to follow the general direction in which they were running to. They ended up guiding us up a mountain!\u00a0 It was extremely steep but once we were at the top it started to snow!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/img_1085.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2908\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/img_1085.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/img_1093.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2909\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/img_1093.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/06\/img_1097.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2910\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/img_1097.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>By the time we made it back down the mountain and rejoined the group, we knew we had to name these dogs.\u00a0 The one to the right is \u5706\u5706 (Yuan Yuan) which just means round because he was a small, cute little fluff ball.\u00a0 The one of the left is \u5b8b\u82b1 (Song Hua) which is just one of the characters in our Chinese text book.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve said it before in previous blog posts but since coming to China, I&#8217;ve discovered my love for hiking.\u00a0 It&#8217;s one-of-a-kind experiences like these that make me want to hike everywhere!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the afternoon, we traveled to a pasture land to explore.\u00a0 On the drive up we got to see beautiful rivers and mountainsides. \u00a0 This region was at such a high elevation, we began to feel freezing rain.\u00a0 However, the landscape was just too beautiful so I didn&#8217;t care.
