{"id":2142,"date":"2014-01-27T03:00:43","date_gmt":"2014-01-27T03:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/setcourseforchina.wordpress.com\/?p=2142"},"modified":"2014-01-27T03:00:43","modified_gmt":"2014-01-27T03:00:43","slug":"exhibits-at-the-national-musuem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/?p=2142","title":{"rendered":"Exhibits at the National Musuem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2280.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2144\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2280.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s National Museum is a massive 3 story building filled with all sorts of interesting exhibits.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been there once before with my foreign policy class to look at one of their largest exhibits about China&#8217;s history from the last dynasty until the present.<\/p>\n<p>However, it&#8217;s pretty cold outside so I decided to spend the day in a warm museum and check out the other smaller exhibits they had.\u00a0 I saw a whole room filled with traditional Chinese fans as well as one with beautiful porcelain pieces. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2285.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2151\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2285.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(That&#8217;s an itty bitty tea cup!)<\/p>\n<p>I also walked through what I refer to as the Mao Room.\u00a0 It was a bunch of massive paintings depicting Chairmen Mao&#8217;s life and accomplishments.\u00a0 It was interesting to walk around the room being the only foreigner there.\u00a0 I definitely felt a little out of place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2272.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2155\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2272.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As I walked from room to room I stumbled upon one exhibit on the third floor in the far back hand corner.\u00a0 It was a room filled with presents that China has received from other countries: president to president, diplomat to president or president to diplomat.<\/p>\n<p>It was very fascinating to see what presents each country chose to give to China. Some were cultural while others weren&#8217;t.\u00a0 I spent an hour just looking at every present to see which country gave what.\u00a0 It was by far my favorite exhibit in the whole museum.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2287.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2161\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2287.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2293.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2164\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2293.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Someone thought to give a walrus&#8230;because who wouldn&#8217;t want a walrus!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2292.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2167\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2292.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the Scandinavian countries gave this awesome model ship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2014\/01\/dscf2291.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-2170\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf2291.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The U.S gave a silver cup!<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if other countries do this but I think this was a great exhibit and all countries should have a museum where they can share these presents with the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>China&#8217;s National Museum is a massive 3 story building filled with all sorts of interesting exhibits.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been there once before with my foreign policy class to look at one of their largest exhibits about China&#8217;s history from the last dynasty until the present.
