My roommate and my friend decided to check out a Chinese bookstore in Sanlitun.\u00a0 Sanlitun is a very westernized part of Beijing so lots of foreigners hang out here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2013\/11\/dscf1734.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-1576\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf1734.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We wanted to visit this particular bookstore, Page One, because it had both Chinese and English books.\u00a0 As soon as we walked in I was blown away.\u00a0 It was a huge two-level store filled to the brim with all different kinds of books.\u00a0 On the front table was the new release books in America as well as in China.\u00a0 They had a young adult section and a biography section and an art section.\u00a0 Around every corner was a new section with bookshelves from the floor to the ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>I walked around for almost two hours.\u00a0 I found lots of classic American books written in Chinese like Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, Brave New World, Pride and Prejudice and Atlas Shrugged.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t want to leave!<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t leave empty handed so I took home the Chinese version of The Great Gatsby.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2013\/11\/dscf1742.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-1580\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf1742.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It may take me years to read but I&#8217;ll start now and make it a project!<\/p>\n<p>On the way back, I got to experience rush hour traffic on the subway! Although it seems stressful for everyone, I thought it was fun! There was very long lines just to get on the subway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/2013\/11\/dscf1736.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-1590\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"https:\/\/evacohnchina.summitbiztech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dscf1736.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had to wait for two trains to go by because they were overflowing with people.\u00a0 No amount of people pushing would help!<\/p>\n<p>Here is a video of the chaos!
