I ate a starfish! Wangfujing is a small little alley filled with amazingly weird food.  A small group of us adventured there on Saturday to shop and see the strangeness in person.  We turned down the alley and were immediately met with live scorpions on sticks! Their little legs were still moving too!

Farther down the street, we saw bigger, more frightening scorpions.  I can’t even imagine eating this!

From the frightening images above, you can understand why I settled on trying the cute, harmless starfish.

Once I picked out the one I wanted–don’t worry they were dead–they popped them into a boiler for a few minutes.  They were tougher than I expected but still quite tasty.  Now that I’ve eaten a starfish, I don’t believe I need to try them again.  However, if you ever walk down a street and see a starfish for sale, I would recommend trying one!
